Idea For Profiles

I think it would be useful to have a feature whereby members could be informed if a member updates their profile. This could be turned on by default and all members are notified one time either when they log in, or through email notification of any members who have updated their profiles recently. This could be a toggle in the members settings if he or she didnt' want to recieve these updates. Any thoughts?

I second the idea.

I like this, and it's pretty simple to do. Right now, we aren't tracking when profiles are updated, but I'll add that soon. then we can do the view new profiles bit.

Why would people want to know whether someone has updated his/her profile (not saying it's a bad idea, just never saw the point in rereading someone's profile), sure if they added a wav file to their profile may be but it's not like name/age or gender changes (except in the rarest of occasions of course).
Just curious

It is true that general things like age and things like that don't change but:
1. Some people have nothing in their profile at all, particularly in 'what user has to say about them selvs' section, they might decide to put something in there so it could be a reason to know when someone's profile is updated.
2. Some of the things a profile contains is contact details IE MSN/AIM messenger addresses, skype usernames or websites. This could change, so people may be interested to know if the profile was updated for those reasons.
3. Some people use their profile to be a bit more creative and say other things about them selvs, or simply say something different, they might change this and so some people might be interested to know.
after all, reember, the idea is that it should be up to a user to choos if they want to be notified if some1's profile has been updated, so I think it's a great idea.

hey paddy that is a brilliant idea, I'm just about to update the written part of my profile now and wish there was a way I could let everyone know with out mass notices on the boards lol. so that is a great suggestion.

OK. Here's what we have. At the bottom of profiles, it will now show when that profile was updated, if it was updated after a couple of hours ago when we started to track this. After a week or two and a bunch of profiles have been updated, We'll add a way to view the latest profiles.
Hope this works for everyone, and let us know if you have any comments.
